National Poetry Day falls on the first Thursday of October. It is a day to encourage everyone to make, experience, and share poetry with your loved ones.
We would like to share one of our favourite poems with you to help celebrate national poetry day.
The lake district is home to the birth of romantic era poetry, the breathtaking landscapes and varied nature made a wonderful home for creatives.
William Wordsworth wrote the poem 'Daffodils' after sharing a walk with his sister through the Cumbrian Countryside. The famous poet was inspired to write about the beauty of sharing nature with a cherished loved one. He personified the daffodils as elegant dancers, mirroring the ebb and flow of human emotions, reminding us of our shared humanity amidst the vastness of the landscape.
